First & Last

First pair of real shoes.Last can of formula.
Special thanks to Target for the shoes. And extra special thanks to Costco for providing a cheaper, yet still nutritious, and apparently delicious formula.

Big Naked Woman

If any of you locals were lucky enough to see this story on the news last night, then you will fully appreciate my new exercise regiment. For if or when I do go crazy and crash my car into one that is parked and then proceed to attack the driver of said parked car and try to break into their car, all while some dude's security camera catches me doing this completely NAKED, I do not want to be referred to as the BIG NAKED WOMAN. Just the naked woman.

Does that make me CRAZY???

If you were singing along to Gnarls Barkley, Patsy Cline, or Aerosmith's version of Crazy, that's fine.

If you had Britney Spears (You Drive Me) Crazy in your head, not fine.

Do you love me?

Now that I can dance, watch me now, HEY! Today was The Dance Festival and Field Day at Owen's School. His class danced to Do You Love Me?, made famous by the movie Dirty Dancing. Okay I know it was famous before that, but that's what I remember it from, she's carrying the watermelon, going to the cool people party, gonna dirty dance with Patrick Swayze. Nobody puts Baby in a corner! Back to the subject at hand. I always loved the dance festival when I was young, with one exception, it was always so HOT. Not this year, pretty sure it was going to rain buckets on us. It did not, and once the dancing was over, the sun came out just in time for a nice little picnic. This is the first dance festival Owen has been in, when he went to Pony Express Elementary they didn't do one, lame. I was really excited to go watch him. I just remember how much fun it was (except when you had to dance with a boy, gross!) and how great it was that school would be over soon. Here's some of his dance moves caught on film!

We picnicked at the school with some neighbors who have little girls, and Molly loved all the attention they gave her. They followed her around and then they all started crawling up the grass hill with her, it was so cute.

I think she really enjoyed playing with nice girls instead of crazy, wild boys for a change!

Recipe Blog

I would like to start a recipe blog. There I said it. I would also like anyone who would want to participate to join in the fun. I love to get new recipes that are good and tasty. So if you think you might be interested, leave a comment and we'll get a blog set up so we can all contribute to it.

*Please don't feel like you have to be a chef to contribute. I always make easy stuff. Plus it doesn't have to be just recipes, it could be a new find at the grocery store, something your kids will eat, a great restaurant you tried, anything to do with food.

Big Bad VooDoo Salad

I love me a pork salad from Cafe Rio. With lots of dressing. YUMMMMMY! Cafe Rio is like that one girl from high school, everyone has been there, done that. But, have you been to Rumbi and done their VooDoo Chicken Salad?

Because you should, it is delicious. You should go tonight and mention that your a Good Things Utah viewer and that salad will be half off. What's that? You can't make it tonight because your home teachers are coming over. Well they probably won't because they have made 3 appointments and had to cancel all of them, so don't plan on it. Go ahead, go getcha a salad. Okay fine, stay home and wait for the home teachers to come. And while your home you can just MAKE YOURSELF A VOODOO CHICKEN SALAD. That's right folks. They have given out the recipe on GTU today. No need to thank me, I am happy to pass along a good thing. Utah.

Obsession

No it's not my new perfume, I don't even know what that smells like. It's him. You don't know who him is? Have you been living under a rock? It's not just him, it's them and these. Confused? Let me help.
And these.

Oh pure delight. The movie trailer was titillating, to say the least. I finished reading all of them (again) just last week. Josh went biking for the weekend and I was bored one night, so I started reading. And I can get nothing done until I'm done reading. All of them. I have to finish so the story is complete. What will I do when there are four of them to read!?! More like what will my husband and kids do while mommy is camped out on the couch for 2000+ pages of yumminess. If any of you suffer from the same obsession, this next part probably won't help. I love to surf the internet. My favorite thing about blogs is you can link from one person to the next and the next and so on and so on for days. Sometimes I find myself on people's blogs that I don't know from Adam, and I can't quite remember how exactly I came to be there. It's the same with any website, you just can't ignore all those delicious links. In my wanderings I came across some fun twilight websites and I am generous enough to share them here with you. One of the best is the MTV movie blog, they have "twilight tuesdays". Sweet.
If you have never checked out Twilight Moms you should.
If you have any others you love, please leave a link in the comments. It will help to ease the pain of the 80 some odd days until Book 4, and the I-don't-want-to-even-count-the-days until the movie. And if you haven't read the books, get on it!

10 months

Since there was snow on the ground this morning, I thought it appropriate to start off with a picture of you in shorts. Yes the weather has allowed for the wearing of shorts, but apparently it's changed it's mind. Back to undershirts and long sleeves for today. I am amazed at how quickly the months are passing by, as I sit here and try to sum up the last 30 days of your life and try not to cry. It is hard to cry and type, the screen gets all blurry and I cannot remember what I wanted to say to you. I am not crying tears of sadness, but tears of joy at the sweet little baby you are. You have been a little sick this last week and getting in your two bottom teeth (the tiniest little bit is barely poking through your gums) at the same time (I would say they are related). I don't think I can handle a whole mouthful of teeth. You are miserable and only want to be held. I shouldn't complain because I know that soon enough you will want to get down from my lap and run. Speaking of voluntary movement, you have started to crawl. You've finally figured out that the moving of hands and knees together, will get you somewhere. Albeit, not far. You don't like the hardwood floor so when you reach the end of the carpet you usually just sit up. You do have an attraction to the red shelf with all our family pictures on it.
This picture on the ground is of our family before you were born and it has our dog in it, you love to see the dog. When you crawl toward something you shouldn't, we tell you no and you shake your head back and forth as if you know what it means and have heard it before. Oh yeah you probably do since you hear me telling it to your brothers fairly regularly. As in frequently throughout the day. A couple of times in any given hour. You get the idea. I am hoping you loose interest in the shelf before the climbing and pulling yourself up stage begins. It is not secured to the wall so that could be bad.
As all these picture illustrate, I am not equip to be the mother of a girl. No bow or hair accessory to be had. My foo foo girly instinct is buried a little too deep. I am however, wearing a necklace in this one, yea me. I am pretty sure it was for church. I did try one new hairstyle out for you and you looked pretty cute. I bought some little barrettes, with good intentions, but haven't used them yet. The length of your hair (on the top) is what makes me realize how much you have changed since you were born. It has grown quite a bit, but not long enough to require a haircut.

Since I can't figure out how to delete the duplicate picture, it's time to bring this to an end. These pictures are of when you were happier this month. Sitting on the floor putting an entire cookie in your mouth and hacking it up when it got in too far. And eating strawberries while I made jam. Now we are going to the doctor to see if you have an ear infection, or if your sickness is just a "virus" really caused by getting your teeth. I am willing to pay money to probably hear something that I already know. This is how much I love you.
